A new set of Pro Lite Bracciano A42 wheels arrived on my doorstep this morning. Racing a heavy calendar abroad on a tight budget means that strength and durability are as important as speed and lightness, so for me carbon wheels are out and aluminium is in.
The Bracciano is a bit of an all-rounder in the aero department, with a 42mm deep section rim, and not the absolute lightest of wheels, but light enough for climbing, and with a full range of mail-order spare parts on the Pro-Lite website.
The Bracciano hubs use the Japanese Ezo bearings and J-bend aero blade spokes.
I’m looking forward to putting the wheels through the paces, so watch this space for my thoughts on how these wheels stack up in the Spanish races.
